Global Debate Championship 2026
From 20–24 August 2026, the world’s leading debaters, university students, college delegates, professionals, and change-makers will gather in Istanbul, Türkiye for the Global Debate Championship 2026 — an international platform for debate, dialogue, learning, and collaboration on the most important issues shaping our world.
Organized by the European Voice Assembly (EVA), the championship is designed to empower individuals who aspire to transform perspectives through the power of debate.
A total of 200 scholarship seats are available through a competitive selection process ensuring fair global representation.
Represent your country in Istanbul and contribute your voice to global debate and leadership.
The Global Debate Championship 2026 will explore critical global, universal, national, and international youth-centered agendas, including artificial intelligence, peace and conflict, war and diplomacy, humanity, social responsibility, identity, and the future of society.
Explore whether artificial intelligence will remain a tool under human control or evolve into a force that reshapes power, ethics, freedom, and the future relationship between humans and machines.
Debate the roots of modern conflict, the role of diplomacy and historical memory, and how nations can move from division and war toward lasting peace and global stability.
Examine how humanity is being reshaped psychologically, socially, and economically, and question whether compassion, dignity, and opportunity are equally shared across all classes.
Discuss how identity, class, culture, and social systems influence recognition, discrimination, and belonging in an increasingly divided world.
Debate one of the most urgent issues of our time: climate change, environmental justice, and the collective responsibility of nations and individuals to protect the future of life on Earth.
As part of this exclusive championship experience, all selected participants will receive comprehensive preparatory materials for each debate agenda, enabling them to build strong arguments and prepare with confidence before arriving in Istanbul.
In addition, a 2-day online orientation program will be conducted prior to the championship, during which the Aurelian Oratory Protocol (AOP) will be formally introduced and explained in detail.
These sessions are specifically designed to help delegates understand the debate framework, board procedures, strategy, and presentation standards, significantly enhancing their chances of performing exceptionally and competing for top honors.
